In these summer months leading up to September, every parent in Ontario is hoping that schools will reopen.  Amid the realities of our world, parents are searching for the best solution for their children.  Those who do not send their children to public schools in the fall will either homeschool or enroll in a private school.  March Academy is one of a number of private schools in the Ottawa area.  Each private school has a unique approach and school culture.  Here are some of the highlights of March Academy.

We are small.

We are proud to be a small school with no more than 32 children from Grade 1 to 8.  Our student’s learning and wellbeing are our priorities.  We meet every morning at 9:00 a.m. as a whole school in Meeting Place.  From there, we break off into our grade-level classes.  Mathematics and Language are core subject areas and our focus every morning.  We truly honour the whole child by providing a rich Arts program and daily physical education lessons.  Each week students enjoy a unique blend of specialty subjects:  yoga, taekwondo, nature study, choir, and individual piano lessons.

We are a family.

Our small size allows us to operate very much as a large family.  Children make friends with ease across all grade levels.  Children are kind, patient and caring with each other.  Teachers can provide students with individual attention daily and we have excellent communication with our families.

Our environment is peaceful.

Our day-to-day life at March Academy is very far removed from the typical hustle and bustle of a large elementary school.  We do not hear school bells ringing for recesses.  Children play freely on the school yard with minimal conflict.  Our large outdoor space provides a beautiful backdrop for cross country running and cross country skiing in the winter.

We have experience.

We have helped children thrive since 2003.  Our supportive school environment benefits all types of learners.  We provide enrichment when needed and build skills where necessary; we take the time to truly understand how your child learns best.  We have high expectations for our students.  The individual attention we can provide along with our positive school culture, allows each child to reach their potential.  We follow the Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum and our teachers are Ontario Certified and highly experienced in their areas.

Our fee is upfront and all inclusive.

The $16,000 tuition fee pays for yoga, taekwondo, individual piano lessons, all supplies, and field trips.  Morning drop off as early as 8:00 a.m. is included.  We do not fundraise or ask for any additional fees.  Families purchase a March Academy shirt and vest which children wear every Monday, on field trips and during special events.  We have traditionally enjoyed a ski trip to Mount Pakenham whereby families purchase lift tickets for those who wish to ski.  Special lunch days i.e. Pizza Day/Sub Day, can also be purchased.  There are no other costs.

We would be happy to meet you for a tour of our school so that you can get to know us better.  We know that we have something very special to offer children and families.  Please visit our website www.marchacademy.ca or call us at 613-592-3308 for more information.
